"Electric Drops" is an interactive, audiovisual installation that brings the old electricity boxes
of the Frank Areal in Ludwigsburg back to life.
Colorful, circular animations adorn the surfaces when viewers step onto the area on the
ground in front of them, activating the play of colors and sounds.
Step inside and bring the electricity boxes to life!
The installation invites visitors to move around the area in front of the electrical boxes. Their movements trigger various animations and sounds that visually and acoustically represent an abstract flow of electricity. The visitors' movements and positions are captured using camera tracking, which activates the corresponding animations and audio on the electrical boxes. Through projection mapping, the animations are projected onto the individual boxes, allowing them to be addressed separately. If none of the fields are activated, an idle mode appears in which small flashes of light flicker on the electrical boxes, hinting that something might happen and that electricity seems to be flowing.
